10/04/02- Sorry for the lack of updates lately. Only news pretty much is to check out the Jump in the Studio site cuz it has new pictures and a four part video Q&A to watch.

 

09/13/02- A new video is up the In The Studio site. Its from the day the kids from Make a Wish foundation were there, and it include two clips of new songs, which can be downloaded here.
09/10/02- Live Shit on DVD to be released Nov 12 for $59.99. It will include 2 DVD discs for the video shows, and the 3 audio discs for Mexico City. The Stencil and Pass will be included to, and the book will be on one of the DVDs.
09/05/02- Lars and Bob stop by the Metclub chatroom.
09/04/02- Kirk was stabbed by his surfboard in the armpit resulting in six stitches. He was going to be out for 2 weeks, but is not back and playing guitar.

08/27/02- Jason Newstead leave his band Echobrain. He is not interested in re-joining Metallica.
08/24/02- Third video up already! pretty much just Lar babbling.
08/22/02- Second studio video released. Jokes about new album title and cover.
08/12/02- Lars stops by in the "Killing Time" chat room, part of the Metallica - In The Studio site.
08/08/02- Metallica has selected the Ramone's song "53rd & 3rd" to appear on the upcoming Ramones tribute album.
08/08/02- Rare version of Hit The Lights to appear in Metal Blade Records 20th Anniversary Box Set
08/03/02- Happy Birthday to James Hetfield. He turns 39.
08/01/02- The Metallica Studio site released. Go to metallica.com get to get all the info.

07/28/02- New Relaunch party video on metallica.com. It has a short clip from the new song Dead Kennedy Roll...check it out!
07/20/02- Toy manufacturer SMIT is making a Metallica PVC statue of Pushead's Damage Inc. art.

06/19/02- Swizz Beatz, the album with the Ja Rule/Metallica song "We Did It Again", is to be released July 16.
06/19/02-James Hetfield will play guitar on a remix of country singer Carolyn Dawn Johnson's single, "So Complicated"
06/04/02- Metallica (with Bob Rock on bass) played a gig at Club Kimo's in San Francisco. They listed themselves as "SPUN", so no one knew. The setlist consisted of: 4 Ramones songs, then Hit the Lights, Leper Messiah, No Remorse, For Whom The Bell Tolls, A NEW song, I disappear, then ended with Die Die My Darling.

05/31/02-ReLauch Party to be on July 6, 2002. 110 winners were choose. 10 of them wil let an all expense paid trip to SF and a tour with Metallica, the other 100 get to go to the launch party.
05/31/02-Lars is sued by a former co-owner of the former label The Music Company.
05/17/02-Lars and Kirk appear in the Metallica Club chat... they say that they're going to be on the Ramone's tribute album, and that Bob Rock is filling in on bass, but doesn't want to be part of the band.
05/16/02-Metallica to appear on a Ramone's tribute cd.
05/07/02-"High Maintance" (Sammy Hagar - Vocals, Michael Anthony - Bass, Lars Ulrich - Drums, Kirk Hammett - Guitar and Victor Johnson on Rhythm Guitar) appears at a Sammy Hagar concert. High Maintance is a sort of joke band.
05/02/02-Lars is moving and selling is house for $11 million. He is also selling the paintings he owns (at around $300K-400K each)
05/02/02-Metallica is back in the studio (in northen California) to record their next album.

04/15/02-James, Lars, and Kirk appear at the Aerosmith Tribute. See pictures and more detail at metallica.com.
04/08/02-Dave Ellefson of the now broken up Megadeth is not going to be the new bassisit (posted by Kirk at the members only section of metallica.com)
04/08/02-James plays on a Gov'T Mule (Drivin' Rain) track with Les Claypool (Primus) for another NASCAR album.

03/23/02-Happy Birthday to The Metallica Sanitarium. It started as Brian's Metallica Site and change to The Metallica Sanitarium and is now one year old.
03/17/02-Gold Cd's are being re-revisted. There will be some new ones to buy.
03/08/02-The McFarlen Metallica action figures are not being made n e more. Get em while they are still in stores.
03/04/02-Happy Birthday Jason! He turns 39 today.

02/21/02-Kirk's house to be on MTV Cribs in late april.
02/14/02-Lars calls former bassman Jason Newsted to meet with James to clear the air bewteen them.
